Program Overview:
Remarkable adventure that combines the Elephant Sanctuary experience with an exciting Doi Inthanon Hiking journey. The day begins with a cheerful hotel pick-up, heading for a scenic drive through rural landscapes. Where fresh mountain rivers, verdant rice fields, and flourishing plantations create a captivating panorama.
Arriving at the Living Green Elephant Sanctuary, you are warmly welcomed and dressed in traditional northern clothing. It’s time to meet the sanctuary’s stars – The Elephants.Engage in feeding and interacting with these gentle giants while learning about their history and gain insight into their behaviors as knowledgeable guides share their wisdom. Walk alongside the elephants as we make our way to the river for a refreshing bath. We respect their preferences, allowing them to decide if they want to enter the water.
Enjoy a delicious local meal while observing the elephants in their relaxed state. Say farewell to these magnificent creatures and start heading towards another adventure. Next, we venture to Doi Inthanon National Park, Thailand’s highest mountain. Feel the cool breeze and mist as we reach the summit, offering breathtaking views. Explore the Twin Pagodas, a symbol of cultural heritage, and wander through the vibrant Botanical Garden.
The adventure continues with a trek along the Pha Dok Siew nature trail, one of the most scenic routes for trekking Chiang Mai has to offer. As you hike through this lush trail, you’ll have the chance to spot rare wildlife, admire the beauty of terraced rice fields, and take a refreshing dip in a waterfall. The experience is further enriched with a visit to an organic Karen hill tribe coffee farm, where you can savor the rich flavors of locally grown coffee.
As the day draws to a close, you’ll leave Doi Inthanon mountain, carrying with you unforgettable memories of its magnificence. Reflect on the profound connection you’ve made with elephants and the wonders of nature as you journey back to Chiang Mai, completing an extraordinary day of adventure and discovery.

ITINERARY : (Duration of program : 11 – 12 Hours)
- 07.00 – 07.45 Pick up from your hotel or accommodation
- 07.45 – 09.15 Drive approximately 1½ hours through a nice rural area where you can have a scenic view of fresh mountain rivers, rice fields, corn fields and banana plantations.
- 09.15 – 10.00 Arrive at the Living Green Elephant Sanctuary where you will be briefed about our Sanctuary and change into traditional northern clothing.
- 10.00 – 11.15 Meet our Elephants. Feed and interact with our Elephants in their natural habitat as you learn about their history and understand their behavior.
- 11.15 – 12.00 Walk with the Elephants to the river and bathe them (However if the weather is too cold and the elephants don’t want to get into the river we would not force them).
- 12.00 – 12.45 Enjoy a delicious local meal and say goodbye to the Elephants.
- 12.45 – 13.15 Drive aproximately 30 minutes to Doi Inthanon National Park and explore the slopes and summit of Thailand’s highest mountain.
- 13.15 – 14.00 Enjoy the cool breeze and mist of the highest peak of Thailand.
- 14.00 – 15.00 Visit The Twin Pagodas which showcase the region’s rich cultural heritage and the Botanical Garden which has a variety of colorful flowering plants.
- 15.00 – 17.30 Start your hike at Pha Dok Siew nature trail where you’ll see rare wildlife, lush rice terraces, take a refreshing dip in the waterfall and visit an organic karen hilltribe coffee farm.
- 17.30 – 19.00 Leave Doi Inthanon mountain and drive approximately 1½ hours back to Chiang Mai.

Schedules may switch morning – afternoon based on camp capacity.
At our Sanctuary, we will allow you to spend as much time as possible with the elephants, ensuring a meaningful and unhurried experience. We don’t follow a strict schedule, and the timings mentioned here are only approximate, with the exception of designated pick-up times. The Pha Dok Siew hike, part of the incredible Doi Inthanon hiking adventure, is of medium difficulty, suitable for those with a basic fitness level and recommended for children above 5 years old. Collection times may vary slightly depending on pick-up location. We offer a free transfer service to/from all places of accommodation within a 5 km radius of Chiang Mai’s Old City. Transport from locations outside this area will incur a surcharge.
