Unforgettable Half-Day Elephant Encounter :

Join us for a Afternoon session and involve yourself with our gentle giants where you can feed, interact and bathe them in their natural habitat.

DESCRIPTION :

The day starts with a cheerful hotel pick-up, setting off on a scenic journey through rural landscapes. Majestic mountains, flowing rivers, and lush fields paint as a lovely backdrop.

Arriving at the Living Green Elephant Sanctuary, you are warmly welcomed and dressed in traditional northern clothing. It’s time to meet the stars of the sanctuary – the elephants. With knowledgeable guides, you feed and interact with them, learning about their history and behavior.

Walking alongside the elephants, you make your way to the river for a refreshing bath, respecting the elephants’ preferences in case they don’t want to enter the water. A quick health check follows to ensure their well-being.

After bidding farewell to the elephants, a delicious local meal awaits, filling you with delight. As you savor the flavors, memories of the sanctuary’s magic linger.

With hearts full, it’s time to return to Chiang Mai, carrying the echoes of the elephants’ trumpets and the enchanting sanctuary with you. Reflecting on the extraordinary adventure, you feel connected with nature and the memories created.

ITINERARY : (Duration of program : 6 – 7 Hours)

  • 12.00 – 12.30 Pick up from your hotel or accommodation
  • 12.00 – 14.00 Drive approximately 1½ hours through a nice rural area where you can have a scenic view of fresh mountain rivers, rice fields, corn fields and banana plantations.
  • 14.00 – 14.45 Arrive at the Living Green Elephant Sanctuary where you will be briefed about our Sanctuary and change into traditional northern clothing
  • 14.45 – 16.00 Meet our Elephants. Feed and interact with our Elephants in their natural habitat as you learn about their history and understand their behavior.
  • 16.00 – 16.30 Walk with the Elephants to the river and bathe them (However if the weather is too cold and the elephants don’t want to get into the river we would not force them)
  • 16.30 – 16.50 Participate in a health check of the Elephants
  • 16.50 – 17.30 Enjoy a delicious local meal and say goodbye to the Elephants.
  • 17.30 – 19.00 Leave the Living Green Elephant Sanctuary and ride approximately 1½ hours back to Chiang Mai

At our Sanctuary, we will allow you to spend as much time as possible with the elephants. We don’t follow a strict schedule, and the timings mentioned here are only approximate, with the exception of designated pick-up times

Collection times may vary slightly depending on pick up location. We offer a free transfer service to/from all places of accommodation within a 5 k.m. radius of Chiang Mai’s Old City. Transport from locations outside this area will incur a surcharge.
